About GOE

The Group of Eight Fibre Artists (GOE) formed in 2006, is a guild of fibre and mixed media artists.

Friends Heather Van Riesen and Linda Kittmer, both members of a traditional quilt guild at that time, found that the quilt guild was not meeting their creative needs in terms of the sorts of challenges and inspiration they sought.  They began to approach others who they thought might be interested in joining a fibre art group and GOE was ‘born’ with eight like minded individuals excited about the learning and inspiration ahead of them.

GOE (rhymes with toe) has changed and grown from the original group and currently includes nine artists.   The members of Group of Eight work in a variety of media, incorporating elements of machine and hand stitch, beading, paper art, felting, painting, encaustic, and other multi-media techniques into their art quilts and multi media works.

The Group of Eight Fibre Artists participate in juried and non-juried group shows, and members' works have been displayed in juried shows, galleries and museums.

Group of Eight are available for trunk shows and speaking engagements.
